[Event Review] Here’s Why Baltimore’s Moonrise Festival Is A Must Attend

The first weekend of August we headed down to the Pimlico race courses in Baltimore, MD for Moonrise Festival. We had the chance to meet and interview tons of artists who were just as excited as we were to be there. The lineup was extremely well rounded featuring a variety of genres and artists from around the world. The festival was exciting through and through, the headliners took on the likes of the Lunar and Stellar Stages while just as big names took on smaller stages like the Solar Tent and Celestial Stage. Check out this video of bass legends Caspa & Rusko tearing up the Solar Tent.

For one of the smaller stages, The Solar Tent housed big names like Caspa & Rusko, Marshmallow, NGHTMRE, Jauz, Andy C, and Bro Safari. The Stellar Stage was run by massive mainstream acts such as Oliver Heldens, The Chainsmokers, Zedd, Yellow Claw and Tiesto while the Lunar Stage housed big bass acts such as Bassnectar, Excision, Griz, and Gramatik. The smaller but still very lit Celestial Stage featured tons of different rising talents in the industry including Giraffage, Louis Futon, and Jerry Folk. Big discrepancies in genres is usually a good thing and Moonrise did a great job curating a lineup for everyone. Here’s Mija stealing the show on the Celestial Stage below.

The vibes were terrific which is honestly pretty surprising for an all ages festival. The one thing that really stood out to me was their security and volunteers. The Moonrise team did a great job patrolling the crowd, making sure everyone was safe while squirting cold water in everyones faces as to keep guests hydrated. There was always a volunteer or member of the security team in sight, god forbid anything went wrong. The volunteers were consistently full of energy and fantastic vibes so for anyone who volunteered, we at Fist In The Air wanna give you a fat thank you. Their water fill up stations for the most part had short lines and could be found at numerous locations inside the grounds. Very, very ideal. Hydration is top dog when it comes to festival necessities, so again, thank you.

We had the chance to sit down with some of our favorite artists at the festival including Bro Safari, Kayzo, and Herobust. Take a look at what they had to say in our exclusive interviews.

Check out some of our best pictures from the festival below as well as what we were listening to Pre-Moonrise. See you next year Pimlico!
