Axwell Speaks Of Possible Swedish House Mafia Reunion On Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 Show
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on BBC 1 Radio, Axwell sat down with Zane to talk about a multitude of things, but of course, the biggest news of it all was the possibility of a Swedish House Mafia reunion. Axwell stated:
Look, I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m one of the biggest Swedish House Mafia fans on the planet and I’d love nothing more than to see a reunion between the trio, but I don’t know about you, but I’m beginning to feel like SHM is becoming this era’s Daft Punk.
What do I mean by this? Well just like Daft Punk’s final show was during their Alive Tour in 2007 in Miami, the rumors of them making a return to the stage have been circulating ever since. The inside/running joke of Coachella is that Daft Punk will be making an appearance – every year! Although it’s only been 2.5 years since SHM’s final performance, the rumor mill has been churning about a potential reunion since that amazing night at Ultra and today – Axwell added fuel to that rumor fire with his statements to Zane. You can listen to the full interview below, but until I see Axwell, Ingrosso and Angello on the stage together again, side by side, with their name ‘Swedish House Mafia’ waving high above them, I can only be a skeptic at this point.
