‘Tron 3’ A Go, Daft Punk To Return To Score?
News broke several days ago via THR. The third installment to the popular Disney franchise Tron has been given the greenlight and gearing up to begin production later this year.
The franchise began in 1982 and a sequel was released back in 2010 with Tron Legacy. The sci-fi film that took place inside a computer world known as the Grid and originally starred Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner. Followed by actors Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund coming in the sequel with Jeff also returning to reprise his role. Although it hasn’t been released that Jeff Bridges will be in the third film, it has been confirmed that Wilde and Hedlund will be returning.
Has the franchise that reminded us (just in case some forgot) of the French duo EDM icons Daft Punk decided to bring them back? Rumors are starting to swirl that may just be the case.
The pair of masked robots even made a brief cameo in the sequel, DJing in a lavish, futuristic virtual-reality discotheque. The score took the film to the film to the next level.
For now, enigma still remains a big part of the dynamic duo’s appeal, so we will just have to wait and see if they emerge onto The Grid once more.
