Kendrick Lamar Premieres Music Video “King Kunta” In Times Square
With the announcement of Kendrick Lamar‘s brand new sophomore To Pimp A Butterfly being the number-one album in the country for the second week in a row, K-Dot and the good folks at Beats by Dre took over Time Square today with a special roll out premiere of the music video for “King Kunta.”
It’s shot in Kendrick’s backyard of Compton, California by Director X and inspired by the classic film, The Mack. Kendrick grabs a diamond in the back, couple of beautiful women and rolls throughout the city showcasing the culture that groomed this youngster for the music industry.
His new album has been reviewed as the best Hip-Hop album of all-time, dethroning former accomplishment held by Outkast’s Stankonia (2003).
