Tupac’s Estate To Release New Music, Clothing, Videos & More
A little over a month ago, you may remember a brand new Powerade commercial starring Derrick Rose hit the net. It featured the voice of Tupac Shakur reciting lines from “Mama’s Just a Little Girl.” Little did we know, but this marked a “total reset of the Shakur estate,” according to Jeff Jampol, of JAM Inc., who was brought in by Afeni Shakur to oversee her son’s business as Billboard reveals.
They’ve partnered with Tom Whalley of Loma Vista Records (who signed Shakur to Interscope in 1991) with plans to do to th estate what they’ve already done with the likes of The Doors, Rick James, The Ramones, Otis Redding and Michael Jackson.
It seems as if this is all geared to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the rappers murder in September 1996.
What this means is, we can expect:
“Almost an embarrassment of riches,” Jampol says, listing “unreleased music, released music, remixes, original demos, writings, scripts, plans, video treatments, poems.”
We’ll also be getting a new clothing line later this year, a biography, a museum exhibit and much more.
