Lil’ Wayne Breaks Silence On Cash Money Lawsuit, Announces ‘Free Weezy Album’

So just a few weeks ago, Lil Wayne announced that he was suing Birdman & Cash Money Records for $51 Million due to the record label (and Birdman) refusing to release Tha Carter V.
As an “apology” to his fans for the delay in Tha Carter’s release, Weezy dropped his latest mixtape, Sorry 4 The Wait 2, which was pretty damn good, btw!
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Weezy finally broke his silence and talked about his troubles with Birdman and Cash Money.
“I want off this label and nothing to do with these people, but unfortunately it ain’t that easy.”
He then went on to talk about Tha Carter V saying:
“It’s super-done. Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it’s a dead subject right now.”
Instead Weezy announced that he’s working on a new album called, The Free Weezy Album.
“I’m working on it every day, man. I guarantee it’s going to be something dope. If you don’t want a musician being creative, don’t get The Free Weezy Album.”
Well if this isn’t the biggest “middle finger” to Birdman and Cash Money than I don’t know what is. You’ve gotta love Weezy’s dedication, though. One of the most anticipated albums in years is being locked up in a studio somewhere, and he basically just said “f*ck it,” I’ll make a new and better one.
This is why we all love Weezy F Baby! Expect The Free Weezy Album to drop sometime in March and grab Sorry 4 The Wait 2 as a free download below in the meantime!
