Out of nowhere, like a drunk college girl showing up at your doorstep, unannounced at 3am on a Tuesday night, Drake dropped his latest album, ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late,’ and it basically broke the internet.
The album has sold around 500,000 copies in seven days, but that’s not the record. Spotify announced that Drake’s album was streamed 17.3 million times in it’s first three days, which set the record for most album streams in its debut week. Interestingly enough, Drake held the same record for his previous album, ‘Nothing Was The Same,’ which had 15.8 million streams in its first seven days. In case that wasn’t enough, ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late,’ set another record by being played 6.8 million times in a 24 hour period (last Saturday). These are some crazy numbers! And to think, Drake had the club goin up on a Thursday…
