J. Cole’s About To Have The #1 Hip-Hop Debut Of 2014
J. Cole has his sights set on his third No. 1 album debut with 2014 Forest Hills Drive (stream here). His last two records, last year’s Born Sinner and 2011’s Cole World: The Sideline Story debuted at No. 1.
And Nielsen Music is now projecting this new album may break 300,000 copies sold in its first week, surpassing the 297,000 that Born Sinner did. This would actually be the second highest premiere or hip hop since Eminem’s MMLP2 over a year ago. In fact, this would be the first hip hop album in 2014 to even break 200,000 in a week.
He may even beat out Taylor Swift’s 1989 which has spent 5 weeks atop the charts.
