deadmua5′ “Ghosts N Stuff” Turned 10 Years Old Today. Feel Old Yet?
One of deadmau5‘ more iconic chunes, “Ghosts N Stuff,” was first crafted 10 years ago.
That’s 2004. That’s not even this decade. That’s closer to the 90’s than today. Since its inception that year, it “ended up going through at least 10 revisions” says Joel.
Him and Pendulum/Knife Party’s Rob Swire had been seeing each other back stage at festivals and shows for a while now, and agreed to collaborate.
The song is said to have been made specifically for Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show October 2008, which he played with Steve Angello, which was actually a live set being played with Pete Tong himself in England. The track was officially released November 25th, 2008 after 4 years of work.
deadmau5 says the song was initially going to be called “Hotel” because he had been staying in a hotel while finishing it up for Tong’s show.
How many of you even knew that electronic music was a thing 10 years ago? (jk)
