Jay Z, Tiësto & More To Headline Free Global Citizen Festival To End World Poverty By 2030
The third annual (and free!) Global Citizen Festival will take place September 27 on the Great Lawn of New York City’s Central Park, with performances from the likes of Jay Z, Tiësto, The Roots, No Doubt, Carrie Underwood and fun. The festival, organized by the Global Poverty Project, will coincide with the United Nations General Assembly meeting on the same day to bring attention to their cause of eradicating extreme poverty by the year 2030. You can win one of the 48,000 tickets through the Global Citizen website by “taking action”: signing petitions, emailing world leaders and sharing poverty facts on their social media accounts to raise awareness. The 2014 festival will focus specifically on children and young people living in extreme poverty.
