R3hab & Lucky Date – Rip It Up (Original Mix) [Out Now On Protocol Recordings]
We were first able to catch the edit from Nicky Romero, which was absolutely massive, and just as you’d hope and expect, so is the original. When I first saw the names R3hab and Lucky Date together for a new collaboration, I became extremely excited, because I knew all that could be achieved by the two working together.
From his remix of Showtek’s “Booyah,” to his remix of Felix Cartal’s, “New Scene,” and now to tack this monster on at the end of the year, it’s safe to say that Lucky Date has had his breakout year. After passing the 1 million mark on Facebook just a couple of months ago, it’s clear that R3hab is continuing his mission to be a production powerhouse; most recently releasing another huge collab with the one-and-only, Steve Aoki. “Rip It Up” is a beast of a progressive house piece, which incorporates elements of the electro house genre as well, such as those gritty synths that you hear in the beginning. From there, the track breaks down into a progressive house bridge and then a build that gears you up for that second drop. Adding new elements into this drop makes it refreshing and just as, if not more, energizing than the first. Out today via Protocol Recordings, stream the track up above and make sure you grab a copy from Beatport below.
