Introducing: Spencer Brown [Avicii-Supported Progressive House Artist]
Introducing: Spencer Brown
Ah, where to start with Spencer Brown. If you’re like me, you are constantly searching for the next Avicii, the next Skrillex, or maybe even the next Eric Prydz, and it can often get frustrating. Digging through tracks on Youtube normally does you no good. The blogs have all the stuff that’s already discovered, so that doesn’t work. You know the secret? You have to figure out whom Avicii, Skrillex, and Eric Prydz are listening to and who they’re inspired by. Well, I
think know Spencer Brown is that guy.
Learn all about Spencer Brown after the jump, make sure to cop his remix of “Echoes”, an original mix by Henrik B, Niklas Gustavsson, and Peter Johansson released on Avicii’s record-imprint “Le7els” which releases on PRMD next week, and check out everything Spencer Brown has to offer on his Facebook.
At 14 years old, the Dallas native began experimenting with various Digital Audio Workstations to create hip-hop beats, just for his own amusement. When he finally discovered EDM just a few years later, Spencer knew he had found his calling. Creating the “Spenca” moniker, Brown’s music was immediately discovered by many of his idols, and Spencer proved his raw talent by soon taking a temporary leave from his dubstep roots to experiment with Big Room Progressive House, Trap, Drumstep, and to quietly work with Ash Pournouri to create an Eric Prydz-like Progressive House alias. By the end of “Spenca”’s run, he had collaborated with major artists like Crizzly, AFK, and Dan of White Panda.
While “Spenca”’s music was being dropped in sets regularly by artists like Avicii, Krewella, Rusko, Kill The Noise, 12th Planet, Datsik, and Bare Noize, Spencer was hard at work to make Spencer Brown the artist he always wanted to be. Inspired by artists like Jeremy Olander and Fehrplay, Spencer has taken the Progressive Style to a whole new level.
While Spencer Brown’s debut EP isn’t set to drop until early next year, Spencer has recently signed with Ash Pournouri (Avicii’s Manager) and the PRMD Record Label to officially drop his first major release, a remix of Henrik B, Niklas Gustavsson, and Peter Johansson’s “Echoes”, on September 24th.
