As Drake‘s dual artwork suggests and as he later revealed, Nothing Was The Same addresses growing up to where he is now (“started from the bottom now we here“). It’s a bout a story he’s been trying to tell for some time now, but it is only fully revealed with NWTS. His aim is to capture all of these moments in time, and to encapsulate them forever.
“Sometimes when I try and think back through this journey it’s hard to pinpoint all these moments,” he said. “On past albums when I’ve been trying to tell the story, I’ve got there but maybe not got there all the way…. “This is my most clear, concise thoughts from now, and my best recollection of then,” he said of the album.” – Drizzy
The 15 track (with bonuses) album is full of hits. The features are hella nice, with HOV, Majid Jordan, and more. But we also have a lot of pure Drizzy Drake. And the production, just as nice, as he’s got 40, boi-1da, Hud Mo, Mike Will and so many others on this one.
Drake said he will never make a full rap album. In fact, he aspires to be the next Marvin Gaye. Think he’s on the right path? Listen below, and be sure to support if ya dig!
