Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside (Third Party Remix) [Official Release]
After a year and a half of dominating the worldwide festival circuit, a track I can easily proclaim as one of my favorite EDM tracks of all time finally sees an official release. It’s been over 14 years since the Red Hot Chili Peppers released their highly acclaimed album Californication, but the instantly recognizable vocals of Anthony Kiedis on the song “Otherside” are as relevant as ever today because of this beautiful, anthemic remix.
Third Party’s outstanding remix of the song first surfaced in late 2011 and quickly became one of the most played songs at EDM festivals across the globe. Despite it’s huge popularity, the remix never got an official release. Until Now. The remix is now out via Warner Brothers and can be purchased on Beatport. I really hope this official release revitalizes the use of the track with DJs worldwide as it still makes crowds go absolutely crazy, singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs until the absolutely euphoric progressive house drop causes thousands of people to jump in unison. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite band hands down and a song as classic as this is extremely tough to remix. With that said however, Third Party couldn’t have done a better job with it as they kept so much of the original in tact while adding in their beautiful progressive style perfectly. I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song, one of my first ever EDM shows and I was seeing Tiesto who had dropped this song within the first half hour of his set. What I felt at that exact moment is indescribable, it completely encompassed the power of EDM. A remix as great as this doesn’t come too often, so make sure to support this great track.
