Krewella’s “Alive” The #1 Dance Track on Billboard + VEVO LIFT Episodes: The Beginning, Influences, and more
Although the post was broken (just fixed it), Krewella made it’s debut on FITA July of 2011 with “Strobelights,” included as an add-on to an Avicii post. We knew they were going to be special then, but it wasn’t really until my boy Justin 3LAU (they shared one of the same managers back then) showed me “One Minute” end of summer that year that I fell in love with them and their music. Back then, I even kept mixing up Jahan and Yasmine…
Now fast forward to almost May of 2013, and the Krew now has over 100 mentions on FITA and tons of other blogs, have played on many of the largest stages in the country like UMF and EDC, opened for Tiesto and the like, collaborated with Nicky Romero, and now… after 36 weeks of charting, are officially the #1 Dance Track on Billboard‘s charts! Oh, they’re also going to be on Now That’s What I Call Music, Vol 46 – yes, that’s right, there have somehow been 46 volumes of it and damn does that make me feel old.
So, how does one become a sexy, grungy, electrofying Billboard Top 40 hits celebrity? How does one go from a few thousand plays and a few thousand “likes” on Facebook, to overcrowding an Ultra Music Festival stage and now having almost 350K rad as hell groupies on Facebook as part of their Krew, in like, a year? Here’s how you find out:
Check out all of their VEVO LIFT’s to date and an interview with one of their managers (shouts to Nathan and Jake) after the jump!
