The Grammys 2013: Pre-Telecast Winners (Ft. Kanye, Rihanna, Skrillex and more!)
Some big names have already won some Grammys, even though the main event hasn’t even begun (8 PM EST, 5 PM PST). Hit the jump for a quick recap.
Rihanna and Calvin Harris won the first award of 2013 for visuals to to “We Found Love” beating out the likes of Jay-Z & Kanye West’s “No Church In The Wild” featuring Frank Ocean,” who is set to make his Grammy debut and is one artist many fans are most excited to see.
Skrillex (with Sirah) has already won 3 awards, on pace to match last year’s incredible 5. They won for Best Dance Recording with “Bangarang,” Best Dance/Electronic Album” also with “Bangarang” EP, and the final was a remix award for a Nero record.
Jay-Z & Kanye West did win one award pre-telecast, beating out NAS, Drake, Weezy, themselves, and themselves again with “N**as In Paris.” The track also won Best Rap Song.
As for Best Rap Album, Drake took the award for Take Care beating out NAS, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz.
The Black Keys won Best Rock Song with “Lonely Boy” as well as Best Rock Album with El Camino.
It came to no surprise whatsoever that Gotye has already won awards for Best Alternative Music Album with Making Mirrors and of course.. Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the ever so famous, beautiful, and overplayed “Somebody I Used To Know.”
The award for Best Country Song did not go to Taylor Swift, but Carrie Underwood with “Blown Away.” But Taylor did win an award for her efforts on the Hunger Games song.
