Event Review: Arty at Pacha NYC Saturday February 2nd
I am a massive Arty fan and have just recently seen him play at Pacha in NYC which happens to be one of my favorite venues. This was the second time I had the chance to see Arty. I saw him not too long ago when he played at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ for Electric Adventure, which was a blast! He really knows how to get the crowd revved up. Anyway, let’s get on to the review!
When I arrived at Pacha on February 2nd, it was already insanely packed inside at just a little over 11:00 PM. At that moment I knew this was gonna be a fantastic night! I must also add that it was sleeting and icy outside, but that didn’t stop anyone. After all, this was in New York City – and everyone there knows how to party! The opener was dropping bomb after bomb, including a favorite track of mine at the moment called “Hit It” by GTA, Henrix & Digital Lab. He even played a few classic house tracks that was quite refreshing to hear.
At a little after 1:00 AM, Artyom Stolyarov aka Arty took the decks and I was beyond ecstatic. I was SO ecstatic that I grazed my way through the crowd that shouted out “Arty, Arty, Arty!” over and over again and made my way to the middle so I could get a great view. He played so many of my favorite progressive tracks (I am an avid progressive fan) and his set was completely enthralling. I was so in love with the music and couldn’t stop dancing for not even a minute! Standout tracks include his latest track “Together We Are” with vocals by Chris James (he sang vocals for “The Veldt” as well!), his hypnotic mash-up of the classic dance track “Rapture” with “Around the World” and my favorite Arty track of all time with Mat Zo entitled “Rebound”.
Arty concluded his set around 4:00 AM and by then I was in awe at how energy inducing and fabulous his set was. I really hope Arty comes back to Pacha again very, very soon. If not Pacha, then I hope EDC New York in May on the mainstage. I’m ending this review with a little phrase all of us Arty fans like to say – there’s no party without Arty!
