Event Preview: Black & White Festival at Governors Island in NYC (Columbus Day Weekend)
If you love authentic house music, festivals and 3 day weekends then I highly advise you to get your booty to Governors Island on October 6th and 7th. I’ve already talked about how Governors Island is my absolute favorite venue so you best believe I will be there! Ibiza United and IROK Entertainment will be hosting a 2 day festival featuring the finest artists in house music on the island. The event is called “Black & White Festival” because on Saturday you dress in black attire and Sunday you dress in white attire. Makes sense, right?
What I love about this festival is that it’s an all day into the night affair. It begins at 12 in the afternoon and doesn’t conclude until 12 midnight. It’s also two days in a row. On Saturday artists such as Jamie Jones, Sleepy & Boo and Carl Craig will be playing along with many more artists. Jamie Jones will be playing an incredible 4 hour set. In the TekSupport Tent you will hear the sounds of Ramon Tapia along with Randy Devone, Giovanni Triology and others.
On Sunday, you will hear the sounds of Jonathan Peters Classics with artists such as Cristian Arango, Vinny Rue, Pablito Drum and more. In the Hometown Heroes Tent will be Jon Bon, Jesse Boria, Marty V, and G Broz (and you guessed it, many more). Alot of artists that are playing are local such as Jon Bon, Jessie Boria and Randy Devone so I will be showing my support for them 100%. Make sure you get your tickets after the jump and arrive in your nicest black and white clothing!
