Capone-N-Noreaga – Bloody Money [pt.1] [Official Music Video]

15 years ago, while many of you were trading Pokemon cards and pushing Razor scooters, one of the greatest lyricsts [strong term] had stepped on the scene going by the name of N.O.R.E. Capone-N-Noreaga had joined forces in 1996 in Queensbridge, NY and the rest is history. They are the epitome of what hardcore hip hop is.

Growing up during the crack epidemic that spread through New York City as well as the rest of the nation, and being intertwined at in the East Coast/West Coast hip hop beef of the mid-90s the music that sprung from these experiences give you a dark glimpse of the true America.

Topping it all off Capone was incarcerated multiple times during the early stage of the groups career which backpedaled the promotion of their art. And if it weren’t for Prodigy and Havoc of Mobb Deep seeing talent and pushing Noreaga [NORE] he would have gone down a dark path as he was peddling crack in the Queensbridge projects at the time and we wouldn’t have been graced with his work.

So after that brief history lesson to acclimate you all on Capone-N-Noreaga, I was recently taken off guard with the release of the visuals for part 1 of Bloody Money which was on the groups debut album The War Report, released 15 YEARS AGO! But then I came to the actualization of the genius marketing strategy in place. Noreaga recently did a record with Wale titled Get Her. And on Statik Selektah’s show on Shade 45 tonight Noreaga was asked, Why did you decide to release visuals for a CLASSIC track that is 15 years old? The rationale behind it Noreaga stated was to show these young artists who I am [A LEGEND](1), that if they want it with me, I’ll bust them in their jaw [pause](2), and I still got it [speaking on the Wale release](3).

Let’s see if this causes a trend on other legends of hip hop (Statik said it first). If this pans out as true what classics would you like to have visuals presented for, sound off in the comment section.
